♥️ My weekly favorites #8 and #9
I have been procrastinating on my last “weekly favorites #8”, so I end up making a post for week #8 and #9…!
Gifu World Freshwater Aquarium - As the weather in summer gets quite unstable, hot and humid, it’s time to find indoor activities with our daughter! I had been wanting to visit this aquarium for some time and it didn’t disappoint :)
It took us about 2 hours in total, including a small break for ice cream and takoyaki! 😋
This aquarium is really a must! So many beautiful (and scary!) fishes and other weird creatures found in rivers around the world: the Amazon river, rivers and lakes in Asia and Africa (Yangtze river, China and Yunnan), Mekong river (south east Asia), Congo river (Africa), Lake Tanganyika (Africa), Nagara river (Japan).
We’ll definitely go back again, probably without our daughter, at least once, to enjoy the place a bit more!
Resident Evil, Death Island - I surprisingly enjoyed this movie. I know absolutely nothing about the Resident Evil video game series but we don’t need to understand everything to enjoy the movie 😄 They can be watched as standalone movies without any prior knowledge of the games!
Good action movie, with a fairly good balance between pure action and dialogue. Recommended!
The Odin Project - first HTML Website (super basic) - I have already written a post about The Odin Project mentioning the first project we are asked to build. I’m quite happy with what I’ve done so far in the course. Still a lot to learn, I’m only scratching the surface at the moment, but it feels like I’m doing what I’m supposed to do. So hang in there Camille, you’ll succeed! 🚀
Toki Premium Outlet - I don’t necessarily enjoy shopping, but this place is good dating spot <3 Nothing astonishing but big enough so even when it gets crowded we still have plenty of space and our daughter can freely run and jump everywhere! I have actually read that this place’s design is inspired by the streets in Colorado, USA: “Reimagining the streets of beautiful Colorado, USA, surrounded by the grand Rocky Mountains” (https://visitgifu.com/see-do/toki-premium-outlets/).
I do have some doubts 😂
No Rocky Mountains in sight, but there is a Lego shop!! So we created our mini fig!
Ibuki no taki - Kitayama Observation deck - Rokusho Shrine (Gifu prefecture) - Itinerary on Strava - We went for a nice walk, about 4km total. We started at Ibuki no taki:
Then went up to Kitayama observation deck, where we could enjoy a really beautiful view, with Nagoya in the background:
We went down towards Rokusho Shrine, via Hakusan Shrine:
We then walked about 1km back to our car, in a stunning countryside. It was really hot and humid but so peaceful. Can’t get tired of this kind of view ❤️
Have a great week!
Camille
